Hannah & Sam’s Thorpe Garden Wedding, Staffordshire

If a stranger was to ask me what makes my heart sing at a wedding – it’s this. A day filled what your favourite humans, where modern architecture meets the old, surrounded by every flower under the sun. Hannah & Sam’s Thorpe Garden Wedding was exactly that.

Despite the fleeting rain showers, in my eyes the sun was shining throughout. Charlotte at Wilder Floral Design truly embraced the summer pastel wedding palette and they really complimented the walled gardens at Thorpe.

Sam rocked a light summer suit with lilac accents, looking handsome as hell whilst Hannah wore a stunning modern embossed bridal dress that has become etched in my brain and shall be remaining there for the foreseeable.

The Ceremony was heartfelt and intimate and the way Sam looked at Hannah melted my heart again and again. There were tears (including from me) and there was laughter throughout with the absolute joy of their marriage becoming intoxicating.

Now let’s talk about the drinks reception – togetherness, emotional & happiness. The guests enjoyed the glorious walled gardens of the venue with the drinks flowing, canapés galore and not to mention laughter all around. I kept noticing Sam getting emotional to himself as he was genuinely to happy to have married Hannah. It truly was beautiful.

As the heavens opened, it was time for the speeches. Thorpe Garden is the perfect blend of traditional and modern, with it’s wedding breakfast space being a haven for floral creations. The speeches were again, full of laughter and sentimental content which led perfectly into an evening of more fun and happiness.

We were lucky that the sunshine decided to come out in full force in between mains and dessert. H & S were more than happy to sneak away for 15 minutes for some evening portraits (keep scrolling for a special bridal portrait surprise).

Why did this day work so beautifully?
Throughout the planning process, Hannah & Sam highlighted a recurring theme – they wanted to be present with their friends and family and everything else was secondary.

A carefree wedding day with a couple that just went with the flow of the day. The rain? Didn’t bother them. Timings? They were happy to mix things up. The Vibes? On point. It’s truly special when you come away from a wedding with two good friends for life.

Hannah & Sam – you’re two in a million and you have my heart.
